Email opt-in
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what you are agreeing to when you give HubGuard your email address — whether by joining the waitlist, creating an account, or configuring email as an alert channel. It is consistent with, and governed by, our Privacy Policy.
What you're opting in to
When you provide your email address to HubGuard, you are consenting to receive:
- Cap-threshold alerts. If you set up email as a notification channel, HubGuard emails you when your HubSpot Free portal crosses the 70%, 85%, and 95% thresholds of the 1,000-contact cap, plus a projection alert as you approach the cap. These are the core function of the product.
- Account and service notices. Essential messages about your account — sign-in confirmation, billing notices, and material changes to the service or to these terms.
- Waitlist updates. If you joined the waitlist, a message when a connection slot becomes available, and occasional updates on availability.
What we won't do
We do not use your notification channels for marketing. As stated in our Privacy Policy, the email address and webhook URLs you configure are stored encrypted and used only to deliver the alerts you have set up. We do not sell or rent your email address.
How your email is stored
Your configured email address is stored encrypted and used only to deliver the messages described above. HubGuard reads only your total HubSpot contact count from HubSpot — it never reads the email addresses of your HubSpot contacts. See Notification Data in the Privacy Policy for detail.
Changing your mind
Consent is not permanent. You can withdraw it at any time — see the opt-out page for how to unsubscribe and what stops. Withdrawing consent for alerts means HubGuard can no longer notify you by email when you approach the cap.
